"Manifesto on the Non-Dual Message of Christ"
-
We affirm that the core message of Christ is the union of the individual self with the one Reality, God.
-
We confess that this message has been obscured by partial and distorted interpretations, leading seekers to search for truth in distant traditions.
-
We declare that the words of Christ bear profound similarity to the doctrine of non-duality (Advaita Vedanta), and that both proclaim the same eternal truth.
-
We affirm that Christ’s proclamation — “I am the way, the truth, and the life” — reveals the ‘I’ as the path, the truth, and the life when recognized in its unity with God.
-
We hold that the Aramaic ina’na (“I-I”) unveils Christ’s intention: the direct realization of the inseparability of the self and its divine source.
-
We proclaim that the practice of self-investigation (ātma-vicāra), as articulated by Sri Ramana Maharshi, is a key to unlocking the meaning of Christ’s message.
-
We affirm that the essential question, “Who am I?”, when pursued with love and sincerity, weakens the mind’s outward tendency and awakens the inward vision of truth.
-
We confess that love is the sustaining force of this path, for as Christ commanded, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind.”
-
We declare that the Aramaic allaha — the origin and power of the universe, the breath of life, the pulse of the heart, and the consciousness of being — is none other than the true Self within.
-
We proclaim that to love God is to love the Self; and to know the Self is to know God.
-
We hold that by resolving the riddle of the ‘I’, all other riddles of existence are resolved.
-
We affirm with Christ and with Advaita alike: there is only one Reality, one teaching, and one eternal Teacher.
